Saxon mentoring network

Exchange of experience for young and established companies

What is mentoring?

Mentoring is the mutual transfer of personal, entrepreneurial experience between mentor and mentee. The mentor supports the mentee on a voluntary basis with strategic decisions and business development objectives, shares specialist knowledge and provides content-related and personal input. In addition, the mentor facilitates targeted contact with established networks in the Saxon innovation ecosystem.

Conversely, the mentee brings new impulses from their own environment to the mentoring, so that both sides of the mentoring mutually inspire and develop each other. The focus tends to be on topics that are not short-term, day-to-day construction sites, but rather serve the long-term development of the company or support strategic objectives. Mentoring is not only suitable for young companies, but also offers established companies the opportunity to exchange ideas across companies on topics such as innovation management. There are no fees for mentoring.

Chemnitz core team

Chemnitz is not only the European Capital of Culture 2025, but also a modern production and IT location in Saxony with a high degree of agility and flexibility due to its small-scale nature.

Core team Dresden

In the Saxon state capital, young and established representatives from the fields of technology and culture come together in a wide-ranging and cross-industry network.

Core team Leipzig

In addition to young growth companies, the dedicated core team in the Leipzig region focuses in particular on innovative start-ups.

Upper Lusatia core team

Due to the lignite phase-out and the upcoming structural change, Upper Lusatia is facing major investments that will entail medium and long-term projects in areas such as mobility, the environment and culture.

Southwest Saxony core team

In the innovation ecosystem of the Southwest Saxony region, a dynamically developing entrepreneurial spirit meets a historic industrial culture.

The Saxon Mentoring Network

The Saxon Mentoring Network consists of around 90 founders and entrepreneurs who promote a cross-industry exchange of knowledge and experience. Together with the regional core teams in Chemnitz, Dresden, Leipzig, Upper Lusatia and Southwest Saxony, we match mentees with suitable mentors. The core teams implement the communication with the mentors and mentees as well as the local multipliers and act in a mediating and driving function.

Become a mentor

As a mentor, you share your entrepreneurial experience with a suitable mentee, provide support in planning strategic objectives and give feedback on content and personal development in regular meetings. In return, you benefit from the approaches and methods of your mentee.

If you are an entrepreneur or founder and would like to become part of the Saxon Mentoring Network as a mentor, please applyhere!

LiGenium GmbH Chemnitz

With sustainable solutions for logistics, LiGenium GmbH won third place in the Saxon Start-up Award 2020. Behind the success of the Chemnitz start-up is also the openness of Managing Director Christoph Alt to participate in a mentoring program. In the video format "Successful Mentoring", he talks about the requirements and lessons learned during this time.

NEXT BUTLER GmbH Dresden

The willingness to be open to feedback is a hurdle that has to be overcome. Sebastian Krampe, founder of NEXT BUTLER GmbH, turned to futureSAX last year to find something he wasn't looking for - you can find out what that was in the video.

Bindwerk & Daniel Mustard Dresden

When you become the managing director of a family business virtually overnight, you face major challenges. To overcome these, Franz Bradler, Managing Director of the Bindwerk bookbindery on the outskirts of Dresden, enlisted the help of the Saxon Mentoring Network. This is how he met his mentor, Daniel Senf, Managing Director of FSA Fremdsprachen-Akademie GmbH. In this interview, mentor and mentee talk about their mentoring story.

Become a mentee

As a mentee, you will receive professional and personal support in the (further) development of your company or start-up from an experienced mentor. At regular meetings, you will receive input and feedback on your current entrepreneurial challenges and goals.

If you are an entrepreneur or founder and would like to become part of the Saxon Mentoring Network as a mentee, then applyhere!

Procedure of the mentoring

  • Send us your application to become amentorormenteeby the end of each quarter.

  • We will evaluate these together with the respective core team from your region and organize an initial matching appointment where mentor and mentee can get to know each other.

  • If both sides are a match in terms of content and personality, they sign a mentoring agreement on confidentiality and the duration of the mentoring.

  • During the mentoring, mentor and mentee meet regularly to learn from each other and grow together.

  • At the end of the mentoring session, there is a feedback meeting with us in which you can report on your new insights and experiences.
