The futureSAX Start-up Forum I on February 7, 2019 in Dresden

Am 7. Februar 2019 fand in der Gläsernen Manufaktur Dresden das 1. Gründerforum 2019 zum Thema Geschäftsmodelle statt.

How do I lead my innovative idea to a sustainable business concept? Does my business model fit? And what actually makes a good brand? Answers to these and many other questions on the way to a successful business concept were offered at the futureSAX Start-up Forum I in Dresden.

More than 40 founders and multipliers took part in the fully booked event in the Transparent Factory of Volkswagen Saxony and exchanged views on business models and branding for start-ups. Marina Heimann, Managing Director of futureSAX GmbH, and Marco Weiss- Head of New Mobility [&] Innovation of Volkswagen Sachsen GmbH, welcomed the guests and introduced the exciting programme.

In this context, the two futureSAX project managers Heinz Truckenbrodt and Alexander Seedorff illustrated what needs to be considered on the way from the business idea to the business model. At the heart of their presentation was the Business Model Canvas as a practical tool that helps to structure and answer the most important questions about the business model of a start-up project.

Yvonne Horn had an innovative approach in her luggage. The start-up consultant from the start-up initiative dresden|exists presented the method of Lean Startup. In this method, a new product is developed quickly through experimental testing and with the feedback of the users. She was assisted by Ilja Bauer, managing director of Entwicklerheld GmbH. He based her presentation on the practical experience of the Dresden-based start-up, which had intensively revised its business model in its pre-foundation phase.

In conclusion, Jan Paul, owner of the branding agency HERBSTWEST, and Stephanie Oppitz, founder of WindelManufaktur + Von Ocker und Rot and winner of the audience award of the futureSAX ideas competition 2017 (now the Saxon Start-up Award), illustrated that successful branding is more than just a chic logo. Together, they used three important cornerstones to show why brands are a success factor for start-ups and why brands need identity.

Thus, all participants received versatile and interesting input for the successful design of their start-up. Inspired by these impulses, some of the participants were again encouraged to submit their business model to the Saxon Start-up Award 2019. Applications are possible until March 10, 2019.

The second futureSAX Start-up Forum will then take place on March 7, 2019 in Chemnitz on the topic of "Creating Investor-Eligible Financial Concepts".
