Welcome to our overview page on financing opportunities for start-ups and companies in Saxony! On this page we would like to show you networking opportunities with capital providers. We also introduce established companies to financing partners that are specially tailored to the needs of SMEs in Saxony.
For start-ups
Start-up companies that are in their first financing rounds (Pre Seed - Series A) can apply in the current Call for Pitches. The pitches are integrated into networking events of the early-stage financing and business angel community and enable direct contact with investors from the entire DACH region. With the exception of topic-specific matchings, the events are open to all technologies and sectors.
Criteria:
The criteria of degree of innovation, scalability and maturity of the investment case in relation to the respective field of applicants are particularly important for the selection of pitching companies.
Financing partner for start-ups:
Technology Start-up Fund Saxony (TGFS)
TGFS is an equity investor for knowledge-based, technology-oriented start-ups in Saxony. It is the leading start-up financier in the Free State of Saxony and supports teams with venture capital and management support in both the seed and start-up phases.
Investment principles:
- Type of investment: Provision of fully liable, direct equity capital
- Investment amount: between EUR 200k and EUR 5 million
- Term: up to 5 years

For established companies
For growth companies that are currently looking for capital or will be in the foreseeable future, there is the possibility of individual matchmaking with growth capital providers.
Apply via the link below as a scale-up (Post Series A) or as a mature, medium-sized company with an established business model and financing reason. Saxon companies from all sectors that are looking for suitable growth financing can apply.
What can you expect?
After submitting your application, we will contact suitable investors from the growth sector from our futureSAX investor network individually with your anonymized company profile based on your selected preferences and individual needs. If you are interested, we will contact you directly to organize an individual meeting between you and the investor as part of the matchmaking process, provided that you are also interested in getting to know the investor in question.
Financing partner for growth capital:
Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen
The programs of Mittelständische Beteiligungsgesellschaft Sachsen mbH (MBG) provide offers for extensive investment projects. These are of particular interest to small and medium-sized companies that are unable to finance important future investments due to a lack of equity capital - despite demonstrably positive prospects.
Principles of participation Direct participation:
- Type of investment: Combination of silent and direct participation possible
- Investment amount: up to max. 49% of the shares (max. EUR 750T)
- Term: Individual agreement
Sächsische Beteiligungsgesellschaft (SBG)
SBG supports its portfolio companies in their development towards sustainable economic success. As an independent investment company, we are committed to commercial principles: Reliability, trust, economic efficiency and pursue a business policy focused on sustainable joint success.
Investment principles:
- Type of investment: pro rata financing of the project with silent and open participation possible
- Investment amount: generally between EUR 100 thousand and EUR 1.0 million (in individual cases up to EUR 2.8 million)
- Term: usually up to 10 years, maximum up to 12 years (silent partnership)
Saxony SME Growth Fund (WMS)
Typical reasons for financing are the (gradual or complete) resolution of company succession, organic growth through the expansion of production/sales/business areas, the establishment of new branches or technology development/introduction as well as inorganic growth projects in the context of acquisitions.
Investment principles:
- Type of investment: Participation via a direct and/or silent partnership
- The investment amount is usually between EUR 1.0 million and EUR 8.0 million and can be supplemented by additional funds from our network.
- Term: WMS is involved as a temporary partner for 5 to 8 years.

Connecting people - that's what Claudia Landrock is passionate about. Before the native of Zwickau completed her bachelor's degree in economics at the TU Dresden, she gained one year of experience abroad as an au pair in Australia and France. An internship of several months in the USA was followed by her master's degree in business administration at the University of Regensburg. Subsequently, she supported and accompanied technology-oriented start-ups and digital start-ups in the Innovation and Start-up Center in Regensburg from the initial idea to the financing round and helped to further develop the regional start-up ecosystem.
Her fascination with innovation and start-ups is also rooted in her student involvement with "enactus Regensburg". She still supports young start-up projects on a voluntary basis as a mentor at StartUP Teens and also campaigns for better conditions for start-ups at federal level as chair of the Start-up Promotion Working Group at a digital policy association.
