Technology pitches: Experience innovations live
Companies and research institutions presented their latest developments in two rounds of pitches. The roadshow of the Digital Technologies Forum kicked things off. Three projects funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space presented themselves here:
- SECAI: The project relies on an edge/cloud system for AI-controlled heating control in private homes to reduce energy consumption.
- GenAI4FFD: An assistance system based on generative AI is designed to make planning processes in the construction industry more efficient, sustainable and future-proof.
- EAV-Infra: The team develops simulation-based tools for the realistic auralization of noise protection measures in infrastructure projects.
Afterwards, there was time for networking in the exhibitor area, which was actively used by the participants. In the second round, technology and cooperation offers from the futureSAX network were presented:
- Sustainable building material development from regional renewable raw materials with whole plant utilization
- Non-contact detection of the hardening state of fresh concrete using spectral analysis
- Conversion of vacant buildings to new-build standard
- AI platform for fast, precise creation of BIM models from 3D scans
- VitoNode - real-time IoT solution for a healthy indoor climate
- Living spaces in harmony with nature: Real estate in organic construction for new living and working communities
- AI-based simulation, real-time monitoring and sustainable energy optimization for urban infrastructures
- ESiP Analyzer - analysis tool for energy storage applications in production and in neighborhoods
- Low-temperature radiators as the key to heat pump refurbishments
- Heat pumps with the heat sources ice storage, lakes and rivers
The pitches impressively demonstrated how diverse and practical the potential for innovation is in Saxony - from basic research to market-oriented applications.
Exchange & networking: thinking ahead
At the final get-together, participants were able to engage in targeted discussions at three moderated themed tables. The focus was on the topics of sustainable construction and renovation, living of the future and smart energy supply. Concrete project ideas were discussed, contacts were made and new collaborations were initiated - in line with the event format, which actively promotes the transfer between science and business.
Conclusion: innovative strength meets network strength
The Saxon Innovation Exchange 2025 has once again shown how important direct exchange is for successful innovation processes. With a clear focus on future topics, practical technologies and strong networks, the format offers a valuable platform for all those who want to actively shape structural change in Saxony.
